Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

For the financial year 2025-26, Essendine will receive a Pupil Premium Grant of £174,225. This is based on 115 pupils who are eligible.

All spending of the pupil premium grant is aimed at moving children beyond age related expectations and accelerating progress. The predominant focus is on English, Mathematics, Computing and transferring knowledge across the curriculum. Support will also be channelled towards raising aspirations, self-esteem and social skills in order to break down barriers and facilitate learning.
